1. The Baby Bjorn has been extremely helpful since day one. Initially it was the only way we could get Cyril to sleep and it's been extremely helpful when I have other things to do around the house as it's hands free and Cyril loves to be close to me, he also enjoys looking around in it now that he's a bit older. Personally we recommend the original, which is the model shown above, as you can put it on in 10 seconds by yourself all while holding the baby. They have 2 newer models that appear to have more back support for the wearer but we're not really interested in those models because Josh and I will be upgrading to the Poco Premium pack by Osprey for hiking when Cyril can hold his head up. Also, I think you might need assistance putting the baby in with the other two models, at the very least you'll have to put the baby down to put them on.  At the moment I can walk 12 miles with Cyril in the Bjorn without feeling any pain in my shoulders or back. I might be able to walk more but the most I have done with him is 12. It's definitely supportive enough for everyday wear.

2. Tommee Tippee Bibs- There are a million kinds of bibs out there, but I like these the best, hands down. Keeps the milk out of your sweet baby's neck rolls but they are also super duper absorbent unlike some of the other bibs that seem to be made of waterproof material. The only downside is that if your baby falls asleep with the bib on you might disturb him when you take it off. The other kind of bib I like is the one that fastens on the side of their head.

3. Philips Avent Pacifiers- Not too much to say about these I just like them because they have extra holes around the mouth so Cyril doesn't get a red mark like he did with the Tommee Tippee pacifiers. If you decide to use a pacifier make sure its an orthodontic one. We plan to wean Cyril off of his pacifiers at 6 months. A lot of babies have a strong suck reflex until this age, Cyril is definitely one of them, so it is necessary to give them something besides a bottle or your nipple to suck on or you'll end up overfeeding them (leading to gas and frequent spit ups) or your nipples will be raw and trust me you don't want that, I let Cyril feed off of me nonstop the first few nights home unaware that this wasn't normal!

4. Born Free Glass Bottles- Initially when we switched to bottlefeeding these bottles had too fast of a flow for Cyril, however, we hadn't realised that there are different level teats, make sure you purchase the newborn or level 1 teat or they'll be getting too much milk each time they feed and will end up choking on the milk or getting wind. We love the glass bottles because plastic is bad for the environment and can leach chemicals, we can also heat up these bottles without them leaking, unlike the plastic ones.

5. Tots Bots Bamboozle Nappies- One word, AMAZING! If you are cloth diapering the combination of these nappies with the motherease wraps is by far the best at containing your little ones wee and poo. We had to use disposable nappies one night and poo got everywhere! Another bonus is that they're made in Scotland so the quality is excellent. We also have the BumGenius organic elementals which I love however you need to put a booster in these nappies because they don't absorb as much wee and we've had a few wet clothes as a result. The BumGenius are much cuter, if that's important to you, and they're made in the USA, so still a good choice!

6. Bugaboo Buffalo- We absolutely love our pram, although it does come with a hefty price tag. If you have the funds it's a worthwhile investment in my opinion. The bassinet can be used as a place for your little one to sleep until they are 6 months old and the whole thing folds up into a nice carry case if you need to travel. It also has an excellent suspension system so whether you're on a bumpy path, the beach, or going through the mud your little one can rest soundly.

7. Chicco bouncer Seat- Cyril just loves to go in this seat and look around. It also has handles so I can carry him and a cup of tea from room to room. I don't really bounce him in it but it's fantastic to leave him in if I need to go make breakfast or lunch, just remember to strap them in, I made the mistake of not doing that once and came back to a baby half hanging out of the chair! Sometimes at night when he's fussy I just put him in this chair and he stops crying, it might be that when he's upright his tummy is less upset.

8. Bamboo Wipes- If you're cloth diapering there really is no need to use disposable wipes. The bamboo wipes we have are far superior to any disposable wipes at cleaning up any mess Cyril makes and all you need to do is dip them in water and wipe away. They're also better for the babies skin as you're only using water and not all of the other fragrances companies pack into their wipes. Another added bonus is the savings! On the rare occasions when we have to use disposable wipes I end up using 5-10 just to wipe up the mess so that my hands don't get covered in poo. With the bamboo wipes I can use as many as I'd like because they'll just get washed and reused.

9. Boon Grass Drying Rack- You don't have to get this rack but I find it helpful to keep all of Cyril's sterilised equipment separate from our dirty dishes.

10. Cybex Carseat- We bought this carseat because a baby can be in it until their 5 years old, or beyond the weight requirements. If you buy a newborn only carseat you'll then have to buy another one when they outgrow it. This takes care of that problem so is better on your wallet and the environment. Another bonus is that it's the only carseat that you can rotate 360 degrees, which means you won't be straining your back to put your baby in. You simply turn the seat to face you, strap them in, and then turn the seat back. I've also had to change Cyril in the truck before and was able to turn him towards the middle seat so I didn't have to climb over and strain my back to pull him out.
