Our Weekend

Unplanned weekends are the best! We started discussing our weekend plans over a pint and tiny, but amaaaaazing, glass of Chablis while Cyril finished his session at nursery. Josh had just completed another stressful week at work so his only priority was getting a surf. I'm too large to surf at this point but am always up for a beach day. Fortunately one of his buddies lives right on the coast and was willing to take us all in for the night, even our poorly toddler.

Friday night Cyril was up most of the night crying and wanting cuddles from Mama and Dada. I had no idea what was wrong with him so just went in for frequent cuddles when he demanded it. In the morning his nose was full of green snot, something I hadn't noticed in the dark of his room, and it was obvious he was sick. I debated staying home and then decided if we stayed home every time Cyril was sick we'd never do anything so we packed up the truck, filled up a mason jar with apple juice and headed to the coast.

I don't know if it was the sea air or the change of scenery but by Saturday night Cyril was basically healed, fastest cold I've ever witnessed in a toddler. He slept in our room and I didn't hear a peep out of him all night.

We had a fabulous day at the Northumberland Park on Saturday, followed by a few pints for the boys in the beer garden next door and one sparkling apple juice for me and my partner in crime, Cyril. Again we debated on whether or not to get takeaway but in the end said, "F*$% it" and went out for a meal. Cyril was extremely well behaved and loved the see through floor down to the wine cellar below. I didn't manage to get a photo but he basically did downward dog over the glass floor while all the other patrons gushed at his cuteness.

Sunday was spent at the beach while the boys surfed and the whole family left exhausted but happy. Thank you for allowing us to take over your house Michael, sorry about the doggy vomit in the hallway and pile of sand in your living room. Until next time, cheers!
