Six Months, Happier Every Day

Well my little Sagey Pagey you're six months in just over a week so I'm posting early because I may never get another chance!

At six months you ...

can roll from front to back and back to front but you'd really just prefer to lay there and socialise with anyone or anything that comes near you.

cry whenever I put you down and leave the room.

spend most of your waking hours on my back and are extremely happy there. I however would prefer it if you'd keep the milk inside your tummy, we had 4 outfit changes in 15 minutes yesterday morning. I should have learned my lesson after the first milk spit up but no I just assumed you couldn't possibly have anything left in that little big tummy!

sleep through the night most of the time. You have been sick for a week and I've been up twice a night with you for extra cuddles but usually you sleep 6pm until 6am.

have tried mashed banana, and although I thought you loved it at first, the instagram video I posted showed otherwise. Technically your first food was orange as you grabbed a segment out of my hand on Saturday. I have a feeling that even though I'm trying to do pureed food you'll end up being a BLW baby just like your big brother. Maybe it was the lemon drizzle cupcake you grabbed out of my hand today that made me realise I'm wasting my time on purees! Sorry for the crumbs Emily!

sing and coo constantly and the other day when I walked in the room your face lit up as you shouted "ma ma ma ma ma mom" pretty sure it was a coincidence but since I counted Cyril's "da da da da dada" as his first word I'm counting this one too.

weigh ????? I decided we've outgrown many of the baby groups and don't want to feel judged, even though it's probably all in my head, so decided to forgo baby weighing unless I was really concerned, and with those fat rolls I know you're thriving so why bother. My guess is you weigh 18 pounds but this could be way off.

are obsessed with trees, flowers, birds and anything that's outside. I'm not sure if it's the contrast between the bare trees and sky or your inner buddha being at one with nature, I prefer to go with the latter theory.

love to fall asleep to hard core rap music. I'd say we were the whitest girls listening to gansta rap this side of the atlantic but then we do live in Cumbria so although we might not be the whitest girls we are most definitely the only ones listening to gangsta rap.  Can we say Run the Jewels? I've had to make some adjustments to our playlist after I heard your brother shouting "yo yo yo motha f*&$£!" from the back seat.

make me happy to be your mother everyday.

And just for fun I looked back and read what Cyril was doing at 6 months and I'm amazed at how different you are! Cyril was such a physical baby, he was already crawling, had been sitting up unsupported for 2 months at this age and could make his way around the entire living room by rolling. He was also able to bring a loaded spoon to his mouth, that probably has more to do with his obsession with food then anything else. If you want to refresh your memory on Cyril's milestones at 6 months click on this link.

No rush Sage, please don't start crawling soon because although I was initially excited by this milestone of Cyril's I soon wished he waited a few months. Once you start crawling things get much more challenging for everyone!

Lastly since I posted what I was up to with Cyril at this age, here is a little snapshot of our typical week:

Monday - Cyril has swimming, you sunbathe on the side of the pool (and by sunbathe I mean lay on a towel next to the window looking at the grey skies outside and the occasional cow that walks past.)

Tuesday - Cyril is at nursery in the morning so we hit the yoga mat with 6-8 other mummies and their babas

Wednesday - Your turn to get some exercise in the swimming pool followed by some yummy lunch at the cafe.

Thursday - I've just started a playgroup at Eden Rock with the owner so as of next week we'll all be having a little fun at the rock wall.

Friday - We usually meet Emily for a hike. Cyril and Maya explore the world around them while you and Layla get a free ride in our ergos.
